Quick service
Voltage drop calculation services
Voltage drop calculations for feeders and branch circuits, with conductor sizing recommendations, for a new circuit, a long run or an added load on an existing service.
What you get
- Voltage drop for each feeder and branch circuit, as a percentage
- The conductor size that keeps each run within the limit
- Notes on any run that needs a larger conductor or a shorter route
- A summary table of every circuit, with the assumptions used
- Calculation report as a PDF
When you need a voltage drop calculation
- A long feeder or branch run to an outbuilding, parking lot, sign or pump
- New load added to an existing circuit or panel
- Motors, EV chargers or other equipment that are sensitive to low voltage
- A permit reviewer or inspector asks for the calculation
- You want to check conductor sizes before the cable is bought
How it works
- 1
Send the circuit details
The single-line diagram or panel schedules, the run lengths, the loads and the system voltage. A marked-up site plan is enough for the lengths.
- 2
We confirm scope and fee
An engineer replies within one business day, and we sign an NDA before you send files.
- 3
We calculate
Each run is checked for its length, load, conductor material and size, and its voltage drop is compared with the limit the project has to meet.
- 4
You receive the report
Every circuit in one table with its voltage drop and recommended conductor size, ready to put on the drawings.
Price and turnaround
Each job is quoted from your drawings. Send them and an engineer replies within one business day with the fee and a delivery date.
Frequently asked questions
What is a voltage drop calculation?
It works out how much voltage is lost along a cable between the panel and the load. Too much drop makes motors run hot, lights dim and equipment fail early, so the cable is sized to keep the drop within a set limit.
What do you need to start?
The loads, the run lengths, the system voltage and the conductor material, or the drawings that show them. We tell you what is missing before we start.
Do you recommend the conductor size?
Yes. For every run that is over the limit, the report gives the conductor size that brings it back within it.
Can this be part of a full design later?
Yes. The calculation carries straight into a full MEP design if you decide to continue with us.
Ready to order?
Tell us about the site and attach any drawings. An engineer replies within one business day, and we sign an NDA before you send project files.
